Is every practical assessment performed on a live jobsite?

Not necessarily. Depending on the credential, evidence may come from controlled demonstrations, simulations, observed work or verified project records.

Can employer evidence be used?

Yes where the evidence is attributable, relevant and verifiable, and where the pathway permits it.

Will RSM inspect regulated work for code approval?

No. Credential assessment does not replace required inspections or authority decisions.

What happens if evidence is incomplete?

The candidate may be asked for clarification, additional evidence or reassessment according to the final policy.

Practical assessment should define the task, equipment, evidence, safety conditions and rating criteria before it begins. Assessors should record prompts, assistance, unusual conditions and additional attempts so the result is understandable and repeatable.

Controlled simulations can be appropriate when live work is unsafe, unavailable or inconsistent. Where portfolios are accepted, RSM should verify authorship and use structured discussion to confirm that the candidate understands the work rather than merely possessing the file.
