Credential integrity
A credential needs published rules before it needs promotion.
RSM certification pathways are education-based professional-development credentials. They must define eligibility, learning, evidence, assessment, conduct, renewal and verification without implying government licensing.
Eligibility
Role, education, experience and prerequisite learning requirements.
Competency framework
The knowledge and practical abilities the credential is intended to represent.
Assessment evidence
Written, practical, documentary or portfolio evidence defined for the pathway.
Credential lifecycle
Term, continuing education, renewal, suspension, complaints and appeals.

Responsible credential language
Education-based recognition is not a licence.
An RSM credential does not replace trade licensing, professional designation, municipal approval, permits, inspection, manufacturer instructions or the authority having jurisdiction.

What people usually need clarified.
Is RSM certification mandatory in Canada?
No. RSM credentials are education and professional-development pathways unless a separate authority formally recognizes them for a specific purpose.
Does course completion automatically create a credential?
No. A pathway may require prerequisites, evidence, assessment, conduct commitments and renewal.
Can a municipality still require other qualifications?
Yes. Municipal, provincial, professional and trade requirements must be confirmed independently.
